This describes what FootQuery actually collects and does with it today, during the private beta - not a generic template. If something here ever stops being true, this page gets updated, not the product's real behavior.
1. What we collect
- Name, email, and a hashed password (we never store or see your plaintext password).
- If you connect Discord: your Discord user ID, username, and avatar - only ever the "identify" scope, never your Discord messages or servers.
- If you upload a profile picture, the image file itself.
- The text of questions you ask FootQuery, and the answers given, kept to improve the product and debug issues.
- Basic usage counters (like your free-question allowance) tied to your account.
- Your IP address is used only briefly, in memory, to rate-limit sign-up/login/password-reset abuse - it isn't stored in the database or logged against your account.
2. What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising, and we don't run any ad tracker.
- If usage analytics are enabled, it's Plausible - cookieless, doesn't track you individually across sites, and only ever counts things like page views. It's off entirely unless a domain is configured for it.
- Your session is a token kept in your browser's local storage, not a tracking cookie - it identifies you to FootQuery, nothing else.
3. Who else sees your data
The services FootQuery depends on to work, and only what each needs to do its job:
- OpenAI - receives the text of your question to interpret what you're asking for.
- API-Football - the source of match/player data your questions are answered from.
- Discord - only if you choose to connect your account.
- Resend - sends account emails like password resets.
None of them get your password, and none are permitted to use your data for their own marketing.
4. Where things are stored
Your account data lives in our own Postgres database. Uploaded profile pictures are stored as plain files on our own server (not a third-party file host), and are deleted from disk when you remove or replace them.
5. Your choices
- Disconnect Discord at any time from your account page - this also removes the stored avatar link.
- Remove an uploaded profile picture at any time.
- Request deletion of your account and data, or ask any question about your data, by emailing support@footquery.com.
6. Contact
For anything in this policy, a data request, or a general question: support@footquery.com. Found a bug or something behaving wrong instead? Use "Report a problem" from your account page - it reaches us faster than email.
7. Changes
As FootQuery grows beyond this private beta, this page will be updated to match.
Questions about either of these? Reach out through the app or the FootQuery Discord.
